Before and After

Abi's hair is a few inches shorter now thanks to a haircut by Laura. It's really cute! She sat very still the whole time as long as she could watch a movie. She looks so much older to me with shorter hair. At least she has less tangles to suffer through when I comb her hair now.

Our Visitors

I have a good friend from college, Laura, who lives in Iowa. We try to get together about once a year and last week Laura, with her daughter, Sylvia, came to our house for the week. The time went so fast, I can't believe they went back home already, but we had a lot of fun while they were here.

We spent one afternoon at the zoo.





We also spent one day with two other friends from college, Amy and Heather, and each of their two boys for a play date. Thankfully it was a warm sunny day so the kids could spend most of the day playing outside!

Oh What a Beautiful Day

Last week we got nearly a foot of snow on Monday, but by the weekend we had one of those unexpectedly warm days, getting to 60 degrees by 10 am! What a great early spring day to be outside. Just a reminder that spring is really just around the corner. We had some projects to work on that day, but we managed to get all four of us out for a bike ride just after breakfast as well as a long walk later in the evening. I enjoy the winter, but only if there's lots of snow. If we're not going to have any good storms it might as well be warm so we can play outside!


No coat, but Abi still needed her mittens to fill her sprinkling can with with what was left of the snow. It didn't take long for it to melt.

Firewood

Abi discovered an exciting new playground today. Actually it's a playground that just keeps getting larger and larger with all the wood that keeps coming! She determined that one side was the ladder and the other side was the "slide". Thankfully she had her boots and snowpants on considering how wet the wood was.

Newest Cousin

Here he is, now one month old, Jesse Matthias. Contrary to our beliefs, he wasn't named after any of the family's occupations (see Jan 12).

Just a little bit of a size difference, but I'm sure it won't last for long.

movin' -n- cruisin'

JD loves his first set of wheels! He scoots around very quickly now. He's starting to briefly stand by himself for a few seconds and likes to stand up holding on to something. He was sick all last week and yesterday it seemed like he suddenly snapped out of the sickness and back into being a happy, active, crazy baby! Not to mention he is thankfully sleeping through the night again.
