The mind of a toddler...

Abi and I had a conversation the other day that made me laugh. We had to stop by my parents house while they were away and as we pulled in the driveway she asked if Oma and Opa were home. I told her No, they're on vacation in New Jersey, but next time they go on vacation, we can go with them to New Hampshire. And she looks at me with excitment and says "And we can get a new clothes thing?!!" (as in hamper...) She cracks me up with how many things that she takes so literally! In the pic she's trying her hardest to scale the fence to play with the neighbor boy. Even Zipper almost became a step stool at one point.

Camp-out

Zach and Abi attempted to have a camp out in the backyard this past weekend. She was so so excited about sleeping outside in her sleeping bag, until after about an hour of being in the dark, they had a conversation somthing like this:

"Daddy, what's that noise?"
"Crickets"
"Do they eat me?"
"No, they eat grass"
"No, they eat me and pizza"
And so, out of fear of being eaten by crickets, the campers came back in the house to their own beds!

We went hiking the next morning at Peace Valley Park. Abi was tenative about going in the "Pooh" tree, but she loved seeing the animals. We saw 2 turtles, 2 geese, many fish, a great blue heron, and 2 deer.

Joel David is 3 months old!
